Sports betting asks you to put a price on uncertainty, which is why a little preparation goes a long way. This hub covers the main non-cricket sports you will usually find in a sportsbook, how bet types differ and the habits that keep it sensible. We cannot list KG999's current fixtures or markets, so read each guide for how things work and then check the sports section on the brand's site.
What a sportsbook offers
A sportsbook lists events and markets: the type of bet you can place on each. The simplest market is the match result. Beyond that you will often see totals, handicaps, props and live markets that update during play. What is available depends on the event and the time you look.
If cricket is what you came for, our cricket betting hub covers it separately because the formats and markets are specific.
Sports covered in this guide
Each sport has its own rhythm and market list, so we give them separate pages.
- Football: result, goals, handicap and corner markets.
- Kabaddi: a popular regional sport with its own scoring logic.
- Tennis: match, set and game markets with fast-changing odds.
- Esports: map and match markets for competitive video games.
- Live betting: wagering while the event is in progress.
Reading odds
Odds are a price. In decimal format, the total return, stake included, is your stake times the odds. Dividing one by the odds gives the implied probability. A price of 2.00 implies roughly a one in two chance before the sportsbook's margin is considered. Our odds guide has worked examples, and the article on why odds move explains shifts before kickoff.
Keep in mind that, with the margin, implied probabilities for all outcomes sum to over 100 percent. That gap is how the book earns.
Staking sensibly
Pick a unit size small enough that a losing run does not hurt. Singles are simpler to budget than multi-leg bets, where one wrong leg ends the ticket. Avoid chasing losses and avoid betting on teams only because you support them. Read the rules on voided bets and cash-out features before you rely on them.
Betting is not a way to make money, and there are no sure things. Use the tools on our responsible gaming page if play stops being fun.
| Bet type | What it means | Budget friendliness |
|---|---|---|
| Single | One selection, one result | Easy to track |
| Accumulator | Several selections that must all win | Harder; one miss loses all |
| Handicap | Gives one side a virtual head start | Moderate; needs care |
| Live bet | Placed during the event | Fast; set limits first |
